To ask ourselves as individuals what we can do about global warming.
Action is better than inaction. We can all make a difference together.
The USA occupies a substantial portion of North America with a population of 301,139,947. (July 2007 est.)
If one half of one percent of us plants a tree, nurtures it, watches over its survival, we will have over 1.5 million trees.
301,000,000 x 1% = 3,010,000 trees
301,000,000 x 10% = 30,100,000 trees
Two trees for each person = 602,000,000

Can you plant a tree?
Go outside look around... What trees are doing well in your area? Can you find seeds? Can you find little saplings that will be mowed down without your help? Pot them up and take care of them so that they can grow up to be trees. Check our resource page for tree links. |

Restore and Balance
We can restore the tree population that has been devastated through development, over harvesting, violent storms, fire, disease, and insect pressures. The more trees we plant, the more carbon dioxide we take out of the atmosphere. |
